History
Boris Barbir, Rollcut’s owner and lead visionary, has had a passion for tool and die making for over 45 years. Born in Croatia, Boris grew up in machine shops, following in his father’s and his brother’s footsteps. He completed his formal training and apprenticeship in Switzerland before coming to Canada where he opened his first business in the 80’s.
Boris enjoys making rotary dies, creating machinery, building printing presses, solving customers’ problems, and finding creative new ways of making the Tool & Die industry more successful. He loves his work, which really is his hobby and passion in life. It’s important to him to make the jobs “customer-friendly” for better ease of use.
Boris truly appreciates customer loyalty and never takes it for granted, especially in these times of outsourcing for faster, cheaper service. He always tries to exceed both his own and other people’s expectations.
Over the years, Boris has trained many apprentices to follow in his footsteps and has advised many people in the industry, establishing a well-deserved reputation for quality workmanship and superior customer service.
